City Threads Review

Look at what the blog Newly Wed, Newly Bred wrote about City Threads!
Have you heard of City Threads? If
not, you are missing out! They have A.dorable!! clothes for ages 0-12 years.
Their clothing is a bit rock & roll, which we luuuuuurve at our house!I was
given the opportunity to review some City Threads duds, and once I checked out
the site, I was jumping at the chance! (I was given 2 free items of clothing for
this review, but was not paid for my opinions). I think I may have spent well
over an hour fawning over the cuteness. I finally narrowed it down to nearly
every shirt on the site a few things, and let hubs pick. He chose the Pirate
Ship Double Layer Tee in Black. I was also quite enamored with the Winged Guitar
Corduroy Jacket in Smurf with Red Stitching. City Threads was kind enough to
send both!
I was SO excited when the box showed up on my front porch! I
was like a kid at Christmas! My "style" for Chunky Monkey goes back and forth.
Lots of bold bright colors, and kind of edgy Rock N Roll type things. I don't
have much of the latter though, so I was pumped to check these out!I was VERY
impressed with how soft both the pieces were. Sometimes you get new baby clothes
and they feel sort of stiff and starchy and you hope they'll soften up in the
wash. This was NOT the case. They were soft and broken in like a favorite t
shirt. I LOVED the look of the long sleeves under the tee. The sizing is dead
on, too. Not too big, not too small. When I put the shirt on C, he seemed very
comfy. He was able to run, move and play very easily. The shirt didn't ride up,
or get all funky in the neck. Some shirts I've found seem to stretch around the
neck and then get all droopy, but that is not the case here. Can I just tell you
that we get NOTHING but compliments on this shirt when he wears it out??
Seriously, people go crazy for it!! Even my parents thought it was
adorable!!When I checked out the jacket, I was impressed with how soft it was. I
was SO surprised to find that even though it was corduroy, it was STRETCHY!! I
was really happy to find that, because I think that coats can be kind of
restrictive and uncomfortable for little kids. It was also cut fairly roomy. The
body of the coat was loose, without being bulky or baggy. I love that it zips
instead of buttons, for easier put on/take off.

I was curious to see how well both of these items washed up.
I hate when you get something and it fades, or the screen printing starts to
crack or peel. I was happy that both articles held up great! The shirt has been
washed MANY times (he wears it a lot!) and it still looks brand new. No fading,
no loose threads, no shrinking. All of this equals one happy Mama!*I didn't
include pics of C wearing the items because with my flash, it kind of washed out
the prints. I wanted you to get a clear idea of how great these clothes look,
and the stock photos are VERY true to how the items look!*City Threads has TONS
of unique designs and prints. Many of them are SO boy friendly, too. It's a big
beef of mine, how everywhere you turn there are tutus and dresses and bows, but
it's very hard to find cool stuff for your rough and tumble boy. City Threads
has it nailed!!
